Site Technician

The role will be working principally on site investigations with assistance working on other environmental projects. Based from our offices in Chatham, Kent this work will involve travelling for various types of projects around London and the Southeast.

Responsibilities:

The level of responsibility and expectations technically, commercially and personally will advance according to the level experience.

• Collaborate and support colleagues and team members on projects, tasks and site work.
• Contribute to the technical delivery of projects, providing support and guidance to other teams and disciplines.
• Manage and complete tasks, within required deadlines and budget.
• Site Investigations –  assisting during investigations including logging and soil sampling, environmental monitoring including gas monitoring and recovery of groundwater and surface water samples, collection of monitoring data and preparation of supporting information (e.g. logs, figures etc).
• Phase 3 Remediation – validation sampling, environmental monitoring and preparation of supporting data.
• Assistance with Geotechnical Investigations including logging and soil sampling, in-situ tests using hand held equipment and preparation of reports.
• Take a proactive approach to managing client relationships, clarifying expectations, success criteria and outcome measures in order to meet their requirements and deliver successful projects.

You will be collaborating with other related teams and disciplines such as Flood Risk and Acoustics with opportunities to learn new skills.

Expectations:

The candidate will need to enjoy working outside and ideally have some construction or site work experience. There is an expectation that technical aspects of the role will be taught, so a willingness and proactive approach to learning is essential.

• Full UK driving license
• Ability to record information accurately and input onto a computer.
• Drive and energy to undertake field work and work outside in weathers
• Prepared to work in a variety of different environments with a variety of people
• A flexible and dynamic approach for working in a growing team
